EXTRACTION or REMOVAL OF BIOPOLYMERS is a surgical procedure, which, as its name indicates, seeks to eliminate biopolymers. This extraction, removal or elimination will always be partial, because they can never be completely removed, especially because depending on the time and its evolution, they infiltrate the tissues of the area where they were injected as well as adjacent and distal areas, since they have a peculiarity, which is that they migrate; they move from where they were initially applied to other parts of the body.
The procedure could be performed by suction or open, depending on the area to be treated, the amount of biopolymers to be extracted and the state they are in. The state of the biopolymers prior to surgery is initially observed through a Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which shows the quantity, location and distribution of the biopolymers.
If the removal is performed by liposuction, the patient must stay in the city where the surgery is performed for at least 12 days, while if the removal is open, the patient must stay for at least 25 days.
Dr. Hugo Aguilar, highlight that biopolymer extraction can be performed as a standalone procedure or combined with other cosmetic surgeries such as breast reduction, breast augmentation or tummy tuck for comprehensive body transformation.
If the extraction is performed by liposuction, the patient must remain in the city where the surgery is performed for at least 15 days. Although she must walk from the first day, if the procedure is performed by suction, she is expected to resume physical activity from day 10, starting with a week of walking, the following week gentle jogging and after this start physical reconditioning gently and progressively including the other types of exercise. If the extraction or removal of biopolymers is performed with open technique, you will have to stay for at least 25 days and although you are expected to walk from the first day, you can resume exercise 30 days after the procedure starting with two weeks of walking, the following two weeks of jogging, then you can start with the rest of your routine gently and progressively week by week. The return to work will depend on the activity performed and will have to keep the proportions with respect to the resumption of physical activity.
When the removal of biopolymers is of the buttocks, at least 10 postoperative massages (one daily) may be sufficient when only this procedure is performed.
The main care of this procedure has to do with anticoagulant therapy. In case of removal by suction, it is less incapacitating than when it is performed through open technique, because this includes care with the surgical wound, such as avoiding wetting it and avoiding positions that increase the tension of the wound. If the removal of biopolymers is done at the gluteal level, it will be necessary to use a girdle. When the removal is of lips or facial, the procedure is much less incapacitating. It will also be necessary to avoid the sun on the treated areas for at least 3 months as well as to resume progressive physical activity. You may sunbathe when the wound has completely healed and the bruising and swelling have disappeared, but not before 3 months.
